About Me

Ashley Marie

In a nutshell: bunny mommy x3, Georgia peach, sprinkle donut addict, wifey, bonus mom. I love God, my family, everything outdoors, photography, hiking, neon spandex kits, and being mediocre at endurance sports. My roots are Alaskan Indian and German. I am married to my best friend and biggest supporter.

My story: For those of you who have conquered something that you previously thought was impossible, you realized that the feeling isn’t quite as satisfying as you had thought. Is it thrilling? Absolutely!!! But it is not SATISFYING. The realm of possibilities is not a destination. It is an ever expanding journey.

When I completed my first 5k in October 2011, I felt on top of the world, but it also gave me a hunger. I searched for the next impossible, and that wound up being a local triathlon. Little did I know that that first triathlon in June 2012 would drive a passion and begin a long journey to self-discovery and self-improvement. My goals and my priorities have changed a lot in these past years. A triathlete has not defined who I am in that time, but it has certainly shaped who I am, as it instills a drive to be the best I can be and to never back down from a challenge.  If someone had told me five years ago I would be doing Ironman triathlons or running marathons, I would have never believed it. Never, ever be afraid to dream, and never, ever stop challenging yourself!

"Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."
